This Week Brookes Street Kindergarten featured in the nambour weekly, if you missed the article you can read below what Jorgia White wrote.
It's not often a group so crucial to the development of a community celebrates 50 years of success and Brookes Street Nambour Community Kindergarten is gearing up to celebrate in style.
In 2017 the Kindergarten will have officially operated in the community for 50 years and staff plan to ensure the reunion is as symbolic as ever.
Lead educator Sandy Vizgaudis said her Kindergarten did things a little differently and that's what made it so special.
"One of the things that we do that makes us a bit different is twice a year we send care packages to the armed forces in the Middle East." she said.
"In the care packages the children include art work on Anzac day and Christmas Decorations on Remembrance Day."
"It's lovely to get emails and letters back from the Forces thanking the children."
"It's just something so they know the children are being taught about how they keep our world safe."
Sandy said the kindergarten staff also prided themselves on ensuring they exposed the children to local arts and culture.
"We get a lot of local creative people, such as a local dancer and other visitors that come to the kindergarten and share their passion with the community" she said.
"This term we have Lindon Davies coming who is one of the Gubbi Gubbi trainers."
"He brings art work and teaches the children the Gubbi Gubbi language, he's also a local."
Sandy, who has been a part of the kindergarten for 10 years, hopes the entire community can get involved.
"We'd like to make it a community event with things like face painting and balloon animals." she said.
"Even though the kindergarten is only 50 years old it has had many renovations and has been modernised substantially."
"We have received things like a new playground so it will be nice for people to come back and see what's changed."
The Kindergarten is now taking enrolments for 2017 and will be having an open day on october 29 from 10am.
